TOP SOFTBALL HITTERS IN CAJUNS HISTORY. LACEY BERTUCCI —(2004-2007)

Lacey Bertucci played from 2004-2008 for co-head coaches Stefni & Mike Lotief; she started 255 games for the Cajuns, which is a school record.

She was named to the All-Sun Belt Conference team all four years. Bertucci slugged 58 career HRS – the video below is one HR against FAU into the gusting wind, in the top of the 7th to take the lead & secure the win.

Bertucci drove in at least 40 runs each season, and was part of the 2006 Cajun team who was #2 in the NATION in HRS with 98 and ushering in a new brand of offensive softball which was all about POWER & HRS.


Bertucci played a school-record 68 games as a freshman in 2004, helping UL notch the school’s first undefeated record in Sun Belt Conference play. The 2004 season ended at the Tucson Regional (under the old format with 8 teams participating); the Cajuns who were coming off of the 2003 WCWS were seeded fifth in the 8 team regional which included 3 teams from the 2003 WCWS: the #1 overall NATIONAL SEED, Arizona- who the Cajuns defeated in the Championship Winner’s bracket and also Oklahoma, who the Cajuns beat in the last two standing—game 1. Lacey is from Covington, LA and is the daughter of Dale and Lori Bertucci; she is married to Andrew Sharp and they have a daughter, Landry.
