Lexi was the first player in program history to finish a season (2015) with a .500 plus batting average (.509) which also led the nation. She also led the nation with a 1.130 slugging percentage, and she hit a HOME RUN every .51 per game, and struck out just 3 times over 140 plate appearances.
Lexi was an All-American all three years (2014, 2015, 2016) at UL under Coach Mike Lotief. She lead her team to the WCWS in 2014; and three straight REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS and three straight SUPER REGIONALS (2014, Lafayette, LA SUPERS; 2015 Auburn, ALA SUPERS; 2016 Norman, OK SUPERS).
Lexi was the 1st overall pick in the NPF draft in 2016. She was a back to back recipient of the Allstate Sugar Bowl, James Corbett Award
Probably the greatest turn around in NCAA history- from zero HRS in 2013 at Texas Tech to 24 in 2014 at UL.

Consider that Elkins 75 HRS came in only 3 years and because of injury she missed the final 18 games of the regular season at the end of her senior season, but returned for the post season leading her team to the Conference Championship, winning the NCAA Regional & hitting her final HR in the OU SUPERS versus Paige Parker.
Lexi is the daughter of Jason and Tammy Elkins and grew up in Victoria, Texas; she graduated from UL with a degree in sports management, and has held softball coaching positions at both Mississippi State and University of Houston.
