GOMEZ’ HR FROM 2003 WCWS VIDEO – still wore short pants and used single wall aluminum bats.

At NUMBER ONE is Danyele Gomez with 83 career HRS.  She was a 4 year letter winner, primarily as an outfielder, for co-head coaches Stefni & Mike Lotief from 2003-2006.  She was a three time All-American selection, two time Sun Belt player of the year. In 2003, she helped guide the Cajuns to the WCWS (Women’s College World Series).

Danyele completed her career with a .359 batting average, 83 HOMERUNS, 588 total bases.  Her senior year (2006), she won the conference triple crown: 30 HRS, 68 RBI, .442 batting average and slugging percentage of .957.

Danyele graduated with honors, receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 2007. She is the daughter of Jimmy and Analyn Gomez from Metairie, Louisiana; she is married to Christopher McDuff.
