Holly Tankersley is a 4 year letter winner as an outfielder, designated player (HITTER), and pitcher for co-head coaches Stefni and Mike Lotief from 2004-2008 (redshirted 2005 season).
Holly is a 1st team All-American her senior season (2008), and help guide the Cajuns to the Women’s College World Series (2008) and hit the memorable home run against the Florida Gators to be the FIRST unseeded team to be an overall #1 seed in NCAA Softball history.
Florida pitcher Stacy Nelson couldn’t have put the ball in a better spot — below the knees and six inches outside. But Holly didn’t care. The left-handed reached across the plate and drove the ball over the left-center fence in the top of the eighth inning as the Cajuns knocked off top-seeded Florida 3-2 in the opening game of the WCWS at ASA Hall of Fame Stadium.
Holly is from Kirbyville, Texas and is the daughter of Johnny and Betty Tankersley.
